What is a Drum Circle?

A drum circle is a group of people who come together to make music at work, school, or in the community. Participants play percussion instruments from around the world, such as African and Indian hand drums, Brazilian and Asian bells, Mexican maracas, Cuban guiros and clave, and many other interesting instruments. Drum circles can be free form (no leader), or facilitated by a trained musician who helps shape the musicality of the grooves.

What We Do!

Rhythm Culture’s drum circles are fun rhythm events that enhance connection and creativity within any group. Our facilitators are trained to build connections among diverse ages, cultures and abilities, while enhancing the musicality of your group’s rhythms. We bring hand drums and percussion instruments to your location. Our facilitators blend drumming techniques with rhythm activities, guiding the group in its creation of exciting polyrhythmic music. Circles can vary in size (10-150) and length of time, depending on your needs. We also bring other surprises to bring out the dancer and singer inside everyone. No matter what our age, or ability, we sound better together!

Why Choose Us?

Rhythm Culture has placed drums in the hands of thousands throughout Northeast Ohio and across the U.S. Our facilitators are experienced muscians and educators, trained to help groups successfully create music together. Our multi-cultural approach serves groups of all ages, abilities, cultures and needs.

Types of Drum Circles

Community drum circles are used for recreation, celebration, and to build unity, as participants appreciate eachother’s unique differences through music.

Corporate drum circles build teamwork, using musical activities to improve communication, innovation, social rhythm and leadership skills.

Wellness drum circles offer participants an opportunity for relaxation and invigoration, especially useful for health care settings, workplaces and senior centers.

School residencies programs (K-8) have been designed to integrate core music concepts with academic standards through classroom-tested arts-integrated curriculum. Preschool programs introduce young children to music concepts such as beat and tempo, as well as beginning math and literacy skills.
