Community Drum Circles can help you celebrate any occasion… from a neighborhood fair or festival, to a youth group event, to a community art celebration. Participants engage in music making together, building connection and community while expressing themselves creatively. Facilitators provide basic instructions, and then ease the group into contributing their own musical ideas. Gradually the facilitator backs away until the group is self-facilitating, making all their own music, increasing empowerment and belonging, naturally. The facilitator makes adjustments to each song to increase the fun, energy and musicality of each groove.
Whether you’re looking for a one-time 45 minutes circle or series of workshops, community circles are great for:
- Festivals and fairs
- Youth groups like Scouting, Indian Guides, choirs, clubs
- Neighborhood parties
- Women’s groups
- Family events
- After-School programming
- Worship events
- Summer camps
- Senior centers
- Libraries
